Overview

The Item Banking console is an application to manage and organize a collection of test questions, known as items, in a systematic way. These items include multiple-choice questions, true/false statements, short answer questions, or even performance-based tasks. Each item is classified and tagged based on its attributes, such as subject area, difficulty level, cognitive domain (like recalling information or critical thinking), and any relevant standards or learning objectives it addresses. This helps in organizing and retrieving items efficiently. The items are stored in a central repository, known as the Item Bank. This Item Bank is enabled with robust management tools that allow users to search, retrieve, modify, and reuse items easily. The items are reviewed and validated for the clarity of language, alignment with curriculum standards, absence of bias, and appropriateness for the intended users. The items thus selected from the Item Bank based on the grade level, topic, or skill, support randomization and adaptive testing, allowing for varied and personalized assessment experiences.

The Item Banking console assessment is used in professional certification, education, standardized testing, corporate training, psychological assessment, language proficiency testing, healthcare education and licensure, test development, adaptive testing, research, and psychometrics.
